I have a prediction, I think in less than a year from now, (12 months), the internet will become the primary entertainment source for the home. Cable and satellite TV will be replaced with internet based TV, thanks in part due to super fast internet speeds.

Furthermore, I predict that data storage online will become very commonplace, to the extent that our primary data storage location will be online.

All our apps and documents will be on a computer server (a bit like google docs) and we’ll log into our user space from a laptop with an internet connection.

This would mean that we would be able to log onto our “user area” from a remote location, say an internet cafe on holiday and we’ll be able to access our desktop, all the applications and all the documents that we need for day to day activities.

This means, no more laptop, no my virus [as the data and application is now managed by an internet giant and not your Tom, Dick or Harry], This also means no more worrying about losing your laptop on holiday.

I also predict that more and more people will start to use online data storage facilities like Mozy or SugarSync.

This will be the future, in less than 12 month!
